Recently, BLACE partnered with Sofar Sounds to put on shows at two of our exclusive venues: Ramscale Studio and Denizen. This partnership is an exciting opportunity to bring music into our venues while supporting up-and-coming artists and inviting the community into a BLACE space.

Who Is Sofar Sounds? 

Sofar Sounds is a global community that connects artists with their fans around the world. Available in 400 cities, Sofar supports artists at any stage of their career, helping them gain exposure to new audiences, venues, and locations. The company has held events in various spaces, from museums and boutiques to rooftops and private homes.  

Each artist hired by Sofar brings a unique musical act to the table, creating diverse performances that appeal to an extensive array of music tastes. They have worked with many notable artists, including Billie Eilish, Hozier, and Leon Bridges. Performances are usually small, featuring three diverse acts and no headliners. This setup provides an intimate and personal environment for the audience and a supportive space for the artists.  

Scenic Views and Moody Ambiance at Ramscale Studio 

Ramscale Studio felt like a natural fit for Sofar Sounds artists, this venue is located in the Westbeth Arts building, which is home to the world’s largest artists’ community. Before the music began, guests enjoyed incredible views of the Hudson River and New York Harbor from the beautiful outdoor terrace. Ramscale Studio was previously a residential penthouse, which provided the perfect living room ambiance for our guests to kick back and immerse themselves in the music.  

Sofar’s performance featured three incredible musical acts, including @mm.orchard, @havenbellmusic, and @riley.cat. Because Ramscale is designed with a wide, open concept, every guest has a clear view of the performers, and the artists have access to strong acoustics. The sound echoes through the room, rivaling a surround-sound speaker system and proving that this event space was truly meant to be filled with live music.  

Casual Vibes and Outdoor Drinks at Denizen 

Denizen is an event venue that offers a range of features across multiple levels. It includes numerous networking areas, a brewery and bowling alley, a rooftop space, and ample outdoor grounds on the ground floor.  

For those seeking a laid-back evening of enjoying outdoor music and socializing with friends, Denizen proved to be the perfect choice. The musical acts that night ranged from slow, melodic tunes to funky, upbeat rhythms, providing a song to match every mood.  

The outdoor setting delivered the quintessential New York City summer experience. With ample space for sound to travel, the music reached every corner of the venue, ensuring that attendees could enjoy the performances regardless of their proximity to the stage.
